Question: How does the open ticket to Kirjurinluoto Arena work? Answer: With the open ticket you may choose to go to a concert in Kirjurinluoto Arena on either one of the following days: Thursday 19th, Friday 20th, Saturday 21st or Sunday 22nd of July. You do NOT have to change the ticket to another, so you may enter the venue with the open ticket itself. In other words, you are able to decide on which concert mentioned above you want to enter, even if the concert is already sold out.
Question: How much is the parking fee in Kirjurinluoto Arena? Answer: The parking fee in Kirjurinluoto Arena is 5€/day (cash only). The parking place is secured during the concerts. There is no night guarding.
Question: Is it allowed to bring food and beverages in Kirjurinluoto Arena? Answer: Yes, it is allowed. Kirjurinluoto Arena concerts are well known for its picnic atmosphere. Just as on previous years, we hope the audience to mind the cleanness of the environment and short out the garbage. Please, pay special attention to glass waste. It is recommended to use plastic mugs but in case of bottle breakage, please inform the cleaning staff in the area.
Question: Last year the toilet queues were pretty long at times. Has the amount of toilets been increased for this year? Answer: Yes, it has been taken into consideration. The lavatory services will now be spread into several spots and the signs are more visible so that they can be found more easily. (As the old saying goes, don’t stay in the first line because many times there are free toilets in the back.)
Question: Are there café’s in the Kirjurinluoto Arena or must the beverages be bought from restaurants? Answer: In the upcoming summer there is also going to be a cafe, where it is possible to order takeaway beverages and special coffees.
Question: From where is the traffic directed to Kirjurinluoto Arena this year? Answer: Firstly it is good to remember that Pori is easily reached by public transportation. The national railway VR is also going to add some extra connections to Pori during the festival as well as some buss companies. If you choose to arrive by car, it is advisable to avoid driving in the centre. Pori is a compact city where it is easy to get around. Car can be parked outside the very centre of the city since everything essential can be reached by foot easily. There's a huge parking place behind Kirjurinluoto Arena. The parking fee is 5 €/day (cash only). The parking place will be guarded during the concerts but overnight guarding will not be arranged. The highways number 2, 8, 11 and 23 lead to Pori. All the car traffic will be directed to and from Kirjurinluoto Arena via highway number 8 (Vaasa,Turku). The “Raumansilta” bridge that leads from Arena to the centre will be closed during the concerts. That may sound illogical, but when driving from Arena to the railway station for example, it takes about 10 to 15 minutes through the highway number 8, while driving through the centre it would take more than 30 minutes. One doesn’t have to be afraid of getting lost - the road signs and our helpful staff will be taking care of that. To find your way there with the help of a navigator, type in the address: Länsitie 425 Pori (or Länsitie 160 Pori). Please note: the Taxis are allowed to drive to and form the gate of Kirjurinluoto Arena through the “Raumansilta” bridge.
Question: Is the Kirjurinluoto Arena an indoor venue? Answer: No, it isn’t. Arena is a green and cosy concert park in Kirjurinluoto. Read more about the venues here.
Question: Is it allowed to bring an umbrella to the Kirjurinluoto Arena? Answer: Due to the safety reasons and on the other hand for maintaining visibility to the stage, it is not allowed to bring umbrellas to Arena. The building of tents or sheds of any kind is also forbidden for the same reasons.
Question: Is there a possibility to put ones belongings to a cloakroom? Answer: Yes, there are two cloakrooms on Arena; at the main gate and at the gate near by “Pormestarinsilta” -bridge. There are also chargeable cloakrooms at LP45! and Otava Factory. The fee is 2 €.
Question: Is it allowed to bring dogs to Kirjurinluoto Arena? Answer: It is not advisable to bring dogs to the festival area because of the sound pressure and crowdedness. It is forbidden to bring dogs to the Jazz Street, but it is allowed in Kirjurinluoto Arena if the dog is leashed but only with own responsibility of the owner.
Question: Is there an age limit to the concerts in Kirjurinluoto Arena? Answer: There is no age limit to the concerts of Kirjurinluoto Arena. The children under 12 years of age are allowed to enter together with their parents free of charge but everyone over 12 years has to buy a ticket. Question: From where can the concert tickets be bought? Answer: Pori Jazz concert tickets are sold in Ticketmaster Company Lippupalvelu through the telephone sales service 0600 10800 or 0600 10020, online shop, and the ticket offices around Finland. During the festival the Pori Jazz ticket office is in the Satakunta Museum, Hallituskatu 11 (please note: access also on the other side of the building from the Jazz Street, Eteläranta 12). Open daily July 12th-16th from 10 am to 5 pm and 17th-25th from 10 am to 10 pm. Tickets are also available at the venues on doors open times.
Question: By what time must the reserved tickets be reclaimed? Answer: The reservation is valid for 3 days starting from the actual booking date. That means the tickets must be reclaimed within 3 days. All the reservations will expire at the latest 1st of July.
Question: Is it possible to change the ticket to another after purchased? Answer: Once purchased, the ticket cannot be changed to another concert. This information is also written in the back side of the ticket.
Question: Are there any parking places reserved for handicapped persons? Answer: Yes, there are. At the north-western gate of Arena there is a parking place reserved for the cars equipped with a handicapped sign. More information about the location of the seating intended for handicapped persons in the venue itself can be asked from the gate.
Question: Is it possible to exit the venue during a concert and then enter again with the same ticket later on? Answer: No, it is not. It is not allowed to enter again with the same ticket once you have left the venue area.
Question: Is it allowed to stand in the concerts of Arena or do you have to stay seated? Answer: Of course it is allowed to stand, dance and sing along in the concerts, but it is good to consider the others as well so that everyone may enjoy the concert the fullest. It is forbidden to stand on the benches.
Question: Is it possible to buy drink coupons for the restaurants in Arena? Answer: Yes, it is. They are valid in all of the restaurants in both Arena and LP45! venues, so in that sense it may be the most convenient way to buy drinks and refill. Question: Is it allowed to shoot photos in the concerts of Arena? Answer: Shooting photos for private use is allowed. It is good to keep in mind that some of the artists may forbid photographing unconditionally, and if so, it will be informed at the screens.

Question: Is it possible to make table reservations to the evening concerts which are taking place in the restaurants? Answer: The table reservations can be made directly to Café Jazz, +358 2 641 1344 or +358 40 724 3439 and dinner reservation to Klubi-Klubben, +358 2 634 0200. Klubi-Klubben takes reservations only from groups over six persons. It is good to remember, that a table reservation itself will not guarantee the entrance to a concert. One has to buy a ticket for the concert as well.
Question: Are you still searching for summer workers for Pori Jazz? Answer: Unfortunately all the summer jobs are already filled but there are volunteer positions open.
Question: Where can I buy Pori Jazz posters? Answer: This year's Pori Jazz posters are for sale at the Pori Jazz office, (Pohjoisranta 11 D, Pori) and during the festival at the Info point in Jazz Street and also in the Jazz Shope. The prise is 10€ per piece. Unfortunately there aren’t enough posters from the last years for sale.
Question: Are all the hotel rooms already reserved for the Jazz season? Answer: The hotels have been fully booked for some time already, but surely the booking situation might change any time. It is advisable to contact the hotels directly. The contact information can be found here.
Question: Why all the hotel rooms are reserved for Pori Jazz? Answer: Pori has a limited accommodation capacity and the question has become pretty common. Pori Jazz does not reserve all the hotels although it might seem so as the hotels are fully booked during the festival. Pori Jazz gets a small amount of the hotel room capacity, but the major part is sold by the hotels.
Question: Is there a wireless internet connection in the festival area? Answer: The wireless internet connection (WLAN) of the city of Pori is public and open for use on the Jazz Street and Kirjurinluoto area.
Question: Is there a baby changing room in Arena? Answer: There are no actual baby changing rooms but the disabled toilets are spacious and suitable for changing diapers.
Question: Are there numbered seats in the venues? Answer: There are no numbered seats at any venue of Pori Jazz. The first ones to arrive will of course choose the best seats, and there for it is recommendable to arrive on time.
Question: Is the assistant of a wheelchair customer allowed to enter the festival with the same ticket? Answer: Yes, the assistant of a person using a wheelchair may enter the Kirjurinluoto Arena with the same ticket. It would be preferred to buy the tickets beforehand and mention about the possible need of wheelchair seating, that way we will also be able to build the platform spacious enough. The assistant may enter with the same ticket with a wheelchair customer also in case the ticket is bought from the gate.
